290 hp crate eco estimated time??

yo I was thinking about getting the 290 hp crate engine off turnkey wut do you think it would run in a quarter?? I seen in an add they had u coulkd upgrade it to 340 ?? does anyone know how much it costs to upgrade it?/

holy crap, could you imagine a 290hp naturally aspirated ecotec. that thing would have to rev to the moon.

You won't crack high 12's with that unless you get LSD and slicks.. Probably run mid to high13's at best without those previous things..

not true mid to low 13's yes not 12's... a good driver and good launch can get into the 12's if the car was gutted

hey guys i just checked out their webpae, is that motor supposed to drop right on with all the stock hradware? intake, rad, etc

the engine is meant for dune buggies...

however it will still have the same mounts and whatnot

u can get a street ver. of the engine that will mount up, the off road dun buggie engine is a little more expensive tho, thanks for ur imput guys

i questioned the same thing bout the turbo version. But ppl tell me it wont fit becuase of the turbo kit.

you know that the 2.2 ECO has a turbo from Hahn racing that's an intercooled turbo that gives you an additional 100+ HP bolt on? so you'll be runnin like 260ish for lil over $4k. which is pretty much the same thing that motor is, just a turbo'd ECO motor.

yeh but the eco push rods snap at 240 hp, and some other things need replaced

push rods? on an eco? you mean piston rods. anyway they should be good to 285ish

This would be great if you blew your engine. I'm definatley going to look into this if I will need an engine replacement.

The HAHN turbo kit doesn't come with a whole new motor though, so you could drop this in and build your other motor while it was out of the car and if you blow this motor you already have a built eco sitting in your garage that you basically got for free? Sounds like a good deal to me!
