hey i was planning to put a gm supercharger on my 2.4 but i'm not sure when... if i put 2.5 inch exhaust from the header back will i lose power running it without the s/c??
because i dont wanna put on 2.25 if i'm just gonna throw on a s/c in not to long..

yes you would probably loose power until you put on the super
just wait then and do it all at once

Going 2 1/2 wouldn't be terrible...maybe slightly lower gains than 2 1/4 but it's good to have if your going to boost like Sappy was saying. It's also good if your going to do motor work like me for example I have a P & P head and bigger cam profile to allow more exhaust exit. In those cases it would be usefull. For people who just want to get a cat-back and intake and leave it at that...I'd say go 2 1/4".

Ok, I'm not gonna start anything.
Wish prices were a lil cheaper though.

That site is a little biased since it is all an advertisement for their product.

Grain of salt.

Sorry to take this off track, but did anyone look at what they want for their progamable ecu? There are alot of cavy's that cost less than that!

2.5" ID (inner diameter) is perfect for s/c. The way a s/c gains power (with out going into detail) is the release of exhaust gasses not too quick. Turbo on the other hand ... you get your power from releasing exhaust gasses so you would want to go 3"ID ... however .. 4"ID is too much. You dont want to release the exhaust gas too fast ... if you do .. that is when you start to loose power.

ahhh you people make me soooo mad... 2.5" on a N/A engine WONT MAKE YOU LOOSE ANY POWER AT ALLL.... HELL YOU COULD HAVE A 3" ON A N/A AND IT STILL WOULD BE FINE!
3" is over killl though buy 2.5" is just fine... i personaly would recomend it i know lots of people who run 2.5" exhaust on n/a engines and have no power loss.

Thats a load of crap........I could have gotten 2 1/2" for the same price, and as for your 151whp...............they are talking about low end power, you probably lost alot of low end to make a small gain on the top end.

I have 2.5" Cat back i felt no loss on the bottom end but a Dyno will tell that but from my day to day driving no loss. Nice gain on the top end though but then again i did the whole header cat back, coverter at one time.

exactly.... there you go... you have your proof right there.... you don't loose ANY GOD DAMN HP with a bigger exhaust... i am trying to search for another topic that some one posted up dyno sheets with 2.5" and 3" full exhaust's on a naturally aspirated cavy i think and it didn't show any loss in power any where (low end or top end)
