im not sure but the new ones have ecotec 2.0 just like the cobalt ss/sc but there turbo.

i was told by the same guy that told me the intake manifold will bolt on to my car that the turbo kit off a saab 9-3 will also work if you could find one at a junk yard anyone know if this is true

this isnt 100% but ill say no. 1st year for ecos was mid 2002. id say you need at least an 03+ saab. to b e safe id go with a 2004+. however, your chances of finding one of these in a wrecking yard are extremely poor, so you may as well get one for the current year, since you will be ordering a new one anyways.

also an easy way to tell is the eco powered cars dont have holes in the intake runners for fuel injectors, where as the older non.eco saabs do.

ok, anyone know a place online to get one of these? i have searched my ass off and come up with nothing. the closest saab dealer to my house is almost 30 miles away, so id rather not have to go that route.

Very hard to tell the actual size of the plenum, so I figured with pictures of it being off the car, it might make it easier to tell.

Not taking it off just for pics. The main plenum started as a 3 inch pipe, then we tapered it down so that the cylinders would get as equal air as possible. Each runner is 3 inches long. On cylinder 4, it is roughly 4.5 inches from the flange, not the manifold flange, but the runner flange, and on 1 it's about 3 inches. Not sure on the exact volume of air, but there was a significant increase in throttle response and turbo lag is next to nothing, full boost around 2600. Haven't had a chance to dyno since the install, but some time in August I'm going to take it. Before I was at 195hp and 198tq at 7psi. That's with a cracked turbo manifold and stock intake manifold, no MSD, and 36lb/hr injectors. Now I've got basically everything replaced. Let's see what happens at 11-12psi with all the new toys.

I'm interested how the pcv system is tied into this manifold.
On the plactic one theres a outlet for the center vent on the block.
Is this the same on the Saab intake mani?
Does it route backinto the manfiold or does it had an external nipple?

.. Trying to figure out how to properly install a oil catch can on the l61...
Thanks.

Does this thing FIT bolt on? what else would I need? 2.4 intake manifold needs a KIT to install it on the L61. Anyone have it and can tell me something?

check the boost and performance sections for the Vulcan manifold. this thread is over 2 years old. the Vulcan manifold is suggested for turbo applications as N/A will not yield as much for performance.

saab mani needs to have a hole drilled for the PCV, and another hole drilled and tapped for the throttle body to bolt on fully.

the 2.4 mani kit is way easier, and better. all you gotta do there is drill a hole for the IAC to breathe through so you idle properly.
you trade some low-midrange torque for top end. Absolutely requires larger injectors and tuning.

the 9-3 manifold was worse than the stock one. even after I got the AFR good, power was lacking all throughout the powerband.. the stock manifold easily outperformed it.
