Stock injector limits...

I have a sand rail with a stock Ecotec in it, and have decided to put a turbo on for this season. Can anyone tell what size the injectors are stock, and how much power can you reliably make on them. I'm running a F.A.S.T. stand alone, and want to head to the dyno this week, so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated..

24lb/hr, don't run more than 175ish hp on them.

What would be the next logical step up in size if I am shooting for around 250 hp at the wheel? Can you just use a stock injector for a Vette or Camaro or something in the place of the stock Ecotec one? Thank you very much for your help...

I don't know how to tell. It was bought as a crate motor from a friend who recieved it from Nopi. Can you give me any help to find out what year it is? I believe it might have come from a Saturn if that is any help?

get a 30 # and you should have no problem with fuel at 250hp. You'll need FMU or some sort though. And upgrade the fuel pump too to be more reliable.

since he's running a standalone, I do believe he'll be able to tune for boost w/ that instead of needing an FMU...... since the motor is in a sandrail I do believe certain things were naturally upgraded.

Check out RC Eng. www.rceng.com they do pretty much nothing but fuel injectors.

370cc sized injectors should be able to help you achieve that 250hp goal.

-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party

You guys are great for your help. Here is a another part of my dilema. I have had a sheet metal intake made for the car, and did it with the stock injectors. I was really hoping to find a 310 to 370 cc injector where I wouldn't have to change the plug on my wiring harness, since I had a milspec harness made. Would the injectors from a Supercharged Cavalier or Saturn Ion work? Are they big enough? I think I have heard that motor makes 220, so I think with the fuel pressure I run, I can get what I want.. I just found out the motor is from an 03 Cavalier, 2.2L ... Can anyone tell me what the stock number is on the side of a Supercharged injector, so I can try to locate online. Thanks for your help in advance...

Since your ecotec engine is a 2003, you can use GM 2.4 supercharger injectors for the older Cavaliers / Sunfires. You can also use ford brown, red, or even green top injectors.
You can find the ford injectors on ebay usually.

You say I can use Ford Brown, Red or Green tops, but would I have to change the injector plug? If I can get my hands on a set of Supercharged Cavalier injectors, will they have the same plug as my stock 2.2L? If the Fords have the same plug, which ones are around a 310cc, since I believe this is the stock size in the Supercharged Cavalier. You guys have all been very informative. Hopefully I can return the favor someday..

I dont know for sure if you have to change the plugs for the ford injectors on the ECO.....But I don't think so.

I think the red tops are close to 310cc, maybe 330. I know the green tops are 42lbs./hour though which is pretty big.
