If you're thinking of getting a Pacesetter cat back, don't. Adam will agree with me on this, too. Get is custom fabbed and slap on a Magnaflow muffler. The pacesetter is prone to rusting. Or get the one from RKSport if you don't have to get is custom. It's all the same shizznit.

No pics sorry, but I do have it. It's basically junk. Bad sound and fitment. I've had to cut, weld, and spend so much extra money on that system, I might as well have gone custom from the beginning.

It's definitely got the stereotypical "pissed off weed eater" sound unless you modify the hell out of it with resonators/glasspacks and new muffler. That's the worst muffler I ever heard.

Another member did point this out to me, though:
If you buy the Pacesetter system, and buy the muffler and resonator you want from the beginning, and have it all installed at once. Then, you've got a kickass, basically custom cat-back. Since all you used from Pacesetter was the piping, the sound you get is what you really wanted. Not to mention, the Pacesetter piping already has the arms that fit into the hangars on the way back, so you don't need to have any of that fabricated. From taking that approach, I've ended up with a great system. Food for thought.

As for that, I've had it for about a year and a half... not one spot of rust in sight.

Had mine on for a long time, muffler sucked...sounded like an Electric Maracca! The piping never rusted and after swapping out the muffler the sound was a bit better but I could never get it to quit rattling against the undercarrage once I put my Hi Flow cat in myself. So IMO, go to a shop and get a custom bent system with the muffler, header, cat of your choice.

Well ive got the entire Pacesetter exhaust system, headers back on my 2200. I also have the magnaflow 2 1/4 high flow cat and mine sounds pretty friggin sweet. I can post pics later or if you wanna gimme your email i can send em to you direct. The only things i had problems with is the pipes werent long enough from the downpipe to the cat and then the cat to the cat-back. I just welded more stainless pipe to each end of the cat and then a flange to it to fit the cat-back and welded the whole thing to my downpipe.
For the sound, It's the least "WWIIIINNNGGGINGINGING" sounding ive heard on a Cavy. Very deep and louder at the real low RPM range and just gets throatier and louder as you rev up to shift. its only been on for a month, so longevity isnt something i speak on.

They suck. They sound horrible, and fall apart very easily and quickly. You can have a custom catback made for around $100.

yeah, I've got one on my 99 Z and I still have the original muffler. It does sound like crap, but I think with a resonater and a different muffler it would sound OK. To me it sounds pretty good from inside the car (where your gonna be most of the time anyway), but my friends tell me it sounds like a spivic when i pass them. I did'nt put the exhaust on there to make it sound good for people, i put it on there toget a little more performance. I think I've had mine for about a year and a half now and mine has'nt rusted out yet, and i live in NH where they salt the roads constantly in the winter. I just go through the car was once in a while and go real slow over the under-carriage washer, that pretty much cleans off the bottom of your car. Overall they are pretty decent, I haven't had any real big issues with mine. Gonna be getting a pacesetter armor coated 4-1 header and a resonator pretty soon so that should be good.

later,

Steve

My other car is an interceptor.

Check out the group purchase forum, on the pacesetter products. A couple weeks left of it.
