Sweet thanks for the info everyone, I think I'm sold on this muffler...do you think a resonator would be needed? I've got one layin around, but if this is as quiet as it's supposed to be...do you think I'll need it?
Resonators does not lower the sound level on any muffler. But it will remove the high -pitch raspyness and make the tone more of a bass note.
I will personally will be using one on my set up.
Being that this a better flowing muffler but at the same time quiet (inside and out), I am willing to bet it will sound tuned---Kinda like an old Alfa Romeo.
Thanks for the heads-up on getting these at Advance. But Summit is selling them a little less from what I am seeing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the Dynomax superturbo muffler under walker's brand name? I think I remember hearing that somewhere before. I had a Superturbo on my car for a lil while and it was ok but wasnt a major fan of the sound of it. Kinda tinny sounding.

Walker is the company that makes Dynomax. And this muffler is not the Super Turbo.
And I too had the ST, they sounded ok on the outside, but the inside had a horrible drone and to me thats where it matters.

The01Cav, did you have a resonator with your superturbo? I just got a superturbo but haven't put it on yet and I'm curious as to how it actually sounds.

It was on the factory piping. so I had the factory cat and resonator. It's quiet at idle or cruising but when into it it gets loud.

No, it's not. I believe it's just a summit brand muffler. It was cheap, somewhere in the range of 30-50 dollars. I don't have time now, but I will look up the part numbet for you tonight.
well, my experience with the dynomax mufflers is that they are pretty quiet, they sound a bit louder than stock, but not much. little better flow, but, they are still a chambered muffler. the quiet flow produced by walker should live up to the same expectations from what i have read, i have yet to hear one on a cav though, and im too broke to do muffler testing like i did on my last car.
i have found that with a big enough resonater you can make anything sound stock...a good example is the borla straight through muffler i have right now, coupled with a very long resonater,lol. before the resonater, the sucker was loud enough to scare small children, sounded good, but, enough crackles and volume to make dogs 5 miles away start barking. now, only slightly louder than stock.
After seeing this post I tossed on a Walker Quiet-Flow (# 22508). I did this as a solution of my "fix-it" ticket after being followed up a hill in a residential area. Well it quieted the car down for sure, but sounds like absolute crap when doing so. A lot of flow+a stock design muffler= sound you'd expect from a 1980's beater car of sorts.
Needless to say the Magnaflow goes back on next week, as I can't stand the tinny/raspy sound this thing produces.
Mr.Goodwrench-G.T....if interested in my Walker, let me know, I'll give you a good price being it's been on my car for a week. I high temp flat blacked it prior to installation also.
God I miss my Magnaflow....that is all.
It's not that I like it loud, but I prefer the sound to have definition to it, if you get what I'm saying.
At idle I dig it right now, but under WOT it sounds horrible, no tone, just tinny raspiness being spilled through the exhaust tip at a fast rate.
UPDATE:
Installed them last week and the name may be "Quietflow" but they are
NOT stock in sound at all, which I was looking for, but for now it is tolerable.
Quieter inside (less resonance) then Dynomax's Super Turbos for sure.
Outside (w/2.4) it sounds like stock 2003-2005 Dodge SRT-4 but smoother. It is quite nice. IMO it is hard to get a good authoritative sound while still being tolerable on a 4cyl. Many cases putting a aftermarket muffler on a 4 banger makes the car sound like crap, that is not the case on a 8cyl of course.
I have two mufflers, the part numbers are on this thread and they are 2-1/4 in in/out just different case length. To add to the tone I am using a Magnaflow resonator and high-flow cat too.

that is the exact setup i want, but i am still not sure about what muffler to get. it would be great if you could get up a sound clip for us
