i am ready to hook up my gauges and just wondered were is the best place to tap in for oil pressure.
my idea was to "T" out of the existing oil pressure/temp switch located at 9 o'clock under the filter housing.
any ideas ???
top of the head there is 2 plugs with a hex head in the center. remove the one in the back closet to the firewall and install your line to that. run from there to your sender and your good. it'll run 100 psi til it warms up then it will go down slowly to about 25-35

Summit racing has the special ecotec thread adapter that you'll need to mount there. I forget what the threading is but it is an autometer part. I hope that helps.
i just went out and took two quick pics.
are you talking about the one in the upper right corner ? on the driver's side on the head.
cool just in time im going to be installing one this weekend
thanks,james

i wish that glowshift or someone had told me this earlier. i ripped this gauge along with the temp gauge out of my car because i thought they were broken. they were working the whole time. oh well. now i know something new. thanks!
Holy back from the dead!!
"You can only feed them semen for so long before their legs fall off."
I am not disputing but why is getting feed off of head better than the block?
Really personal preference IMO. Head is easier to get to and it doesnt flow as much PSI after it's warmed up. I usually hit about 10-20 psi at cruising speeds. Of course, I also live in AZ and things get hot hot hot!

has anyone found a pressure sensor to work in the 1/4 18npt t housing to run the stock oil pressure gauge light?
After removing the plug on the head and running your braided line, where is a good place to mount the sender?
I know about the brass fitting that I will need, and all that. My question is, with this fitting does the sender screw right in to it, and hang of the galley area on the head, or should a supply line be run, and maybe mount the sender on the fender or something?
The sender on my OP gauge is huge, and I am afraid that it would wiggle itself loose from there.
1/8 ntp threads for your fitting on OP sender. when i when to install mine in the head, i couldn't clear my EGR block off so i tee'd off the stock sensor by the oil filter housing. if you have the room to mount it directly to the fitting on the head i would see no problem as long as you use thread sealer to help hold it together and seal.
