Just stick a carburetor on there save you having to wire everything

just a quick update.

I sold my old fuel tank to Cody @ RDfabs for his eco project.

I used that to buy a turbotech racing k-brace off of bubba.

so now I'll be able to brace the new subframe.

I still haven't received my strut bar from RK sport either.. I ordered it in October. Looks like there's some phone calls I have to make to get that mess sorted out at the end of the week.

The goal this month is to get the car home. After Christmas and new years, I can focus on getting the project back on track.

was there something special about the rk brace that stood out to you?

what happened to the vibrant bar you used to have?

You look so much cuter with something in your mouth.
Re: LS61 progress

the rk brace is offset from the strut towers.

I have my coolant expansion tank mounted up near the firewall now, and I need an offset strut bar to clear the cap up there. You can see the tank in this picture:

either the rk bar, or the dcsports bar. since rk is being a pain in the ass, I may just cancel my order and get the dc bar instead.

the rk bar is the exact same thing as a gm vert bar. just pick one of the 2 firewall mount ones up for cheap. i just got one for i think $22 shipped.

^^ there's two different rk bars.

the vert bar (which follows the firewall shape) and another one thats straight, just offset.

thats the one I ordered. I need the bar to sit away from the firewall about 4" to clear the cap for the expansion tank.
the DC sports bar is the same way (check out fetter's pictures)

I'm going to take the bar and install it backwards, pushing the bar further into the engine bay, but clearing my expansion tank.

hmmm ok. now that makes sense. i was thinking theres no way you didnt know about the vert bar!

i think you should have wenzel make you up some aluminum 'bushings' for that rk mount like he did for his car...

Those alum bushings gained me like 415.59 WHP !

na just kidding just a little time and material thats all, working on my newest project

LZM is working on a bolt in solid mount I'm pretty sure. I'll wait till he comes out with it and then pick that up.

its worth it to support vendors who make quality parts. plus my rk mount is pretty ugly now. Its getting pretty damn old...

hurry up clay will ya?!?

I really wish jeffie would have decided to go to the plant on saturday. I really wanted to see the skwirl even tho she's not running yet. Oh well, you guys are only 4.5hrs away, not that big of a trip to come down again.

Keep up the good work PJ!

just got a call from RK sport, the bar is shipped and will be here sometime next week.

a bit of a delay, but in the end doesn't really matter.

I'm planning on making the AAA call sometime this week to get the car home and safe in my garage from weather/ work BS

thats when I can start making some real progress on it.

the homecoming

needs a lot of work still

the engine <333

two blocks, and two transmissions

3 L61 heads, 1 LSJ head, eagle crank, eagle rods, wiesco pistons, darton sleeves, Comp Cams street/strip high RPM camshafts.. all collecting dust lol

beneath that I have an LSJ wiring harness, ignition coils and harness, ecotec a/c, spare ecotec radiator, spare stock fan, 3 L61 intake manifolds, 2 L61 ignition packs, 2 unused ecotec ECUs, miles of stock wiring, 1 LE5 intake manifold with adapter plate, a set of spare LS sport chromies, a set of 95-99 Z24 rims, and the racing wheels (14" steelies for the rear, 15" steelies for the fronts with the DRs), 440cc green top injectors, cobalt ss injectors, etc etc etc

now all I need is a decent bench with a vice, and a heater for the garage and it is ON

damn man, nice stock pile of ground pounding parts. and really theres nothing 'stock' about it. LOL

so whats the plan with the current engine in the car? just a 'test it n see' deal? or are you attempting the n/a goals once again?

no n/a stuff this year.

I want 450whp out of it with the stock engine. (meaning OEM internals) If I feel frisky, I may put a ported head on, change out the pistons and cams and go for broke.. try to get over 500

but during that period I plan on selling off the majority of parts I have to fund a GMR bottom end (crank, rods, pistons) in one of my blocks after I have the darton sleeves installed.
when that happens, all bets are off.
