well i know for a fact now that the HO cams will not fit the 33mm bores. so sometime soon im taking my junkyard intake tower and getting it bored for 35mm lifters. im really feeling like a newb right know because it seems im doin stuff thats been tried or done years ago. i dont believe nothing until i see it. before i do anymore motor work im getting a wideband.

You could clearance the tower so the cam could spin, you have once the towers are bored to 35mm...

I just picked up an exhaust cam tower off a 1990 grand am today and I just measured the lifter opening and it appears to be 35mm. Do all the pre-95 2.3's have 35mm lifters? I left the lifters/cam in the car and am wondering if I should have picked them up to.

I believe all 2.3 motors had the 35mm lifters..... I THINK, no 100 on that though.

Also, I suggest NEW lifters whichever route you go.

So the car I just took the 2.3 exhaust cam tower off only had 119,***kms and I'm kinda wondering if the lifters would be good to use? The guy said he'd sell me a bag of them for $5 which I thought was a pretty good deal, 16 lifters for 5 bucks, seems like a decent deal to me. Think I should bother with them? I have a set of lifters coming with around 82,000 kms or miles (not sure which but probably miles cause its from the US) with the HO cams so I'm not sure if I should even bother with these.

those lifters < 60 year old hooker.

95 2.3s DO have the smaller 33mm lifters as well as the smaller diameter lobes on the cams.

basically a good way to describe a 95 2.3 is a 2.4 with a different intake manifold and less displacement. pretty much it.

I must confess... I feel like a monster!
