I was thinking about doing solid engine/trans mounts in my '00 cavy, to tighten up the feel of the car and the shifts (feels super sloppy). I couldn't find any info on here, who's done it and do you like it? I'd rather have the jerkiness of the car controlled by my left foot than by the worn out mounts.
It's time to start driving the old POS for the winter again and I don't want it feeling so sloppy.
meh, suppose I'm not familiar enough with the site yet to search and get good results, also wasn't sure if there'd be info in the "performance" section, or the "suspension" section or even the tranny section. either way, thanks guys, I'll check those places out.
I have TTR's upper and lower normal mounts, plus a poly tranny mount and my car's vibes are just a little over annoying. The feeling is a LOT better then stock in the shifting/handing department, but you will get some pretty hefty vibrations. And with our cars, well, they aren't built with the best materials so a lot of thing's make noise :p
To give an example. If i'm doing 80km in 5th gear, and excellerate briskly, EVERYTHING shakes. Turning on your AC will also increase vibes. Whereras before it was all smooth sailing.
Point is just know what you're in for. Can't have comfort and performance in this situation.
Im running RKSport engine mounts and TTR tranny mounts on my 5-speed eco. Yes there are more vibes than stock, but they do not bother me one bit(even on long drives).

I'm pretty used to a car that shakes (my summer car has a heavily modded engine with a big cam and poly mounts). I'm not too worried about that, I just hate the sloppiness, I'm going to order a full mount kit for this sucker. Thanks for the links everyone.
lol thats fine, I made my own. as you know I dont buy much stuff, I usually make it!
But I did buy your upper and lower mount for the 2200 about 18 months ago and was very pleased!
