I texted you back. Calling is hard when working. When I get free time I'll give you a call, or you can text me today if you like.

Put me on that list Phil. It'd be fun to buy a project cav and throw in a LSJ.

If these are available or are going to be available I want one. I didn't feel like reading 5 pages of posts while at work

These can also be powdercoated, I am now offering this as an option.

Total for powdercoating is 25$ a total of 100$ per wheel, or you can get them for 75$ a wheel and do as you please

I'm going to go with no powder coat and either hit it with por15 or clean it and prime it and hit it with a few coats of rustoem.

It should, I mean its just a surface coating (hell its just really damn good paint), I'll have to test it first some how I guess.

True, nothing too thick should be used it would seem, from the pictures I've seen you guys have the sensor pretty damn close.

I figured i'd post my questions here now that i am at a computer rather than on my cell phone

I am interested in doing the L61 head on a LE5 block in order to do this:
What timing chain would i need?(if it matters)
What actual thermostat is used?
Does the head gasket matter? Autozone doesn't even list one for the LE5
Do I want a LE5 with or without an oil cooler?
L61 head bolts or LE5?
Can i use plain wire on the sensor extension or does it have to be braided CKP sensor wire?

I have done a bit of reading and i think i have found the answer to a lot of these questions but i'd like to be positive i know 100% the correct answers.

Wire needs to be braided, you need to use an LE5 hg or at least one with the right bore size (89mm i think is the number from the thread). no head bolt, studs (I'm not sure but I want to say l61 since its the thickness of the head that matters), I didnt think the timing change mattered, I may be wrong. No idea on the thermo. And if the remote mount oil cooler kit for the lsj works on the le5 then oil cooler would be better, if not, non oil cooler.

thats what i figured on all things. i meant to say studs rather than bolts, especially when the cost of upgrading is so small. the le5 is listed with and without an oil cooler on car-part.com. i figure with an oil cooler would be better but it might not even be a factor because there are way less cars that have the cooler listed

I figured i'd post my questions here now that i am at a computer rather than on my cell phone

I am interested in doing the L61 head on a LE5 block in order to do this: you have too
What timing chain would i need?(if it matters) It doesn't but I used the LE5
What actual thermostat is used? both engines run at 195, so again either way
Does the head gasket matter? Autozone doesn't even list one for the LE5 LE5 89mm bore, if you're not looking for a high CR motor I'd do a custom .050" or your cr will be almost 11.2:1
Do I want a LE5 with or without an oil cooler? up to you, obviously oil cooler is better but mine doesnt have one
L61 head bolts or LE5? again doesn't matter, I used L61 ARP headstuds
Can i use plain wire on the sensor extension or does it have to be braided CKP sensor wire? braided

and if you're looking for more then 300 hp get an 06-07 LE5. Also you HAVE to run at least the blower cam grind in this from comp or you're going to have a very low powerband, headwork is also a very important thing, but not a must. With the stroke and displacement increase the stock L61 cams are extremely toooo wimpy. We figured the stock LE5 cams are like comp stage 1's.
