Not trying to take money out of Sly's pocket here but if anybody wants a set of these and a cover (new, never mounted) shoot me a PM. I'm just not going to push my car to the limit as earlier planned because of time constraints and life in general.

You need to make a cap for the top of the bushing to spread the load out. Also that bushing should be one piece if possible. I would have to look into it more but you might need to make it thicker.

I would make a stainless cap for the bushings so that the compression from the nut is evenly spread out.

Ok you guys heres a good ?... I believe the engine mounts on the 96-98 N bodys are different than the 96-02 J bodys for the 2.4, Though they are the same oem mount.

I have the upper polyurethane insert that fits perfectly and the lower pulyurethane dog bone (which I had to cut and narrow down one end to slide into the motor bracket)

I dont think the aftermarket upper engine mounts like the one McMoney has above or TTR has will fit my 98 Grand Am.... They totally changed the upper engine mounts in 99 for the N bodies.

ANYONE?

What shore was the bushing?

Delrin is normally 80-85 Shore D.

Most urethane's are commonly 60 to 75 Shore D.

Not sure of the shore. They were Prothane brand.

Anyone ever make a transmission mount for a 96-98 N body 4T60E? I assume the V6's and the 2.4 had the same tranny mount with 4T60e's just different stall toque converters.
