MERGED: CAI Box? Custom Box Size Help

ok so my 96 z24 had a CAI, and my carbon fiber hood has a functional hood scoop. does anyone make filter boxes so that i can seal the intake to the hood. so it is a actual COLD air intake?

I doubt your hood has a functional hood scoop. Which hood is it?

Also, no. Nobody makes those.

my Fibre images SS hood has a functional scoop as well...

however i relocated the battery for an easy drop in to the fender well

how much would you want to make something like that? and do you now what hood im talking about? lol



the intake on the hood sits right between the battery and strut tower. in front of the fuse box.

This is an SS hood...


which means if you have the FACTORY air box, you can cut the top off of it and make your factory setup "CAI". I use quotes because that area of the hood (where the scoop is) to be a very low pressure area. thus, it's going to suck air out of your box. negating any CAI effect you would get.

i dont have the factory box. when i got the car it was gone and has a cai in its place.

WE can make a intake box for approx $125

WE are working on an intake set-up for the 2.4 as well.

ok cools you think the setup will be avail any time soon. like should i just wait out on getting a box from you? will the setup have a box included?

The intake will have the option for a box. The box itself will run $125 ( APPROX). The intake will run $150-180 (APPROX)

Time frame 2-3 weeks.

CAI custom box size help?

Does anyone know if there is a specific size i should make the box to put my cone filter in so i get enough air flow for the filter? its going to seal to my hood (its a functional hoodscoop)

Also im going to relocate my battery to my trunk so i have more room for the box. can i run both wires down the same side of the car or should i run them down opposite sides?
