Hello guys,
i have a 3.1 engine with aluminiun pistons with steel inserts inside of them.
Is this unusual or most of the 3.1 (around 1989) have these pistons.

Probably factory. 1990+ I believe all had aluminum pistons. 3.4l camaros were forged. After market pistons I believe had valve indents. So if they are flat or dished they most likely are stock.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
