Hello guys
i wish to know what is the physical difference between the standard and the high volume oil pump.
Is there something whrite on the pump itself ?
For a 3.1 1989.
How can i ident. them ?
Do you know the parts numbers ?

High volume oil pumps can potentially suck your oil pan dry, during certain events, without adding 2-3quarts of extra volume to the system.

I'm not saying it could happen to you, but a new standard pump is usually enough for even dual bypass oil filter setups and oil-feed turbos and restore proper oil pressure to a tired engine.

Thanks for the tip,
i also wish to know why there is a plastic tube between the drive rod and the body of the oil pump.
The one i have is broken.Is it really nesseseray?

the plastic tube is there to keep the shafts aligned. yes it is necessary.
