i ask this question in the electronics section and got no answer . maybe someone here can.help. I have an 04 cavalier 5 speed. I have an autometer speedo. question is where do i get the signal from . thanks

lol. Seriously though, on a 5-speed there's probably only 2 sensors on the transmission; VSS and reverse.

The VSS is tied to the ECM. The ECM converts the signal for the gauge in the cluster and sends that signal via another wire. On the pre-00 cars there's a wire running into the C100 block at the firewall for the speedometer, not sure about the 00+ cars, but I think it's the same.

I think I got it. Straight off the yellow wire on the back of tranny
