Anyone out there running a 200+ shot of nitrous on a 2.4 LD9?

You'll need to upgrade the rods and pistons.

I have heard of 1250 on a stock motor.

Lets just say, GM doesn't recommend more than a 75 shot on a stock Ecotec. Even with my current mods, I wouldn't push 75+ HP until the block is done.

Well I'm running a 125 shot right now but last summer I let the rpm get up there a little and it pulled the top off one of the speedpro pistons so I'm rebuilding now with better pistons and I want to get more out of it so I was just curious what the most people were throwing at it...1250 hp would be pretty sweet but that would seem to be pushing it on a stock block ha

Sorry that was 125 shot on a stock bottom end.

Everyone knows Ecotec does not like nitrous. But a LD9 is a different story.

Oh that makes more sense I should have figured that out right away...I'm probably going to get this together and throw it at it and see what happens ha

People have ran 125 shot on stock block for a while now. LD9s that is.

I feel that if the crank, rods, and pistons hold up you could push it over a 200 hp shot without the block giving you trouble

Pistons and rods will fail first. The crank and block is good to at least until the 550+ range. Probably more than that, but 550whp seems like a good proven number to date.

Ya I would be pretty happy with that...I don't want to get to the point of needing a aftermarket block or aftermarket crank
