Has anybody sucessfully raced a 2.4l twin cam without doung the oil pump swap? My buddy has been talking about trying a additive or running 30 weight plus oil in it.

A TON of people have. The main issue is with people running lower than 3.5 quarts. If you are running an oval some overfill slightly.

I have a 2.4 with 150 shot of nitrous and shifting at 6500 RPM on the dragstrip with a 2.4 oil pump and I haven't seen any trouble at all...I pulled it down this winter and didn't see any sign of oil starvation

152k on my factory LD9. Raced over 200 times at the drag strip and it is supercharged.

It's well documented that the 2.4 oilpump cavitates above 5800 engine rpm, I know because that's what killed my engine. So when I tore it dow for a total rebuild I did the 2.3 oil pump swap, added Wiesco forged pistons, Eagle forged rods, HO head, intake and HG2 cams and a turbo. So I know I won't have any oiling issues at any rpm.

Addicted to Meth what is your shift rpm and are you running stock or bigger cams, just wondering what rpm range is your powerband in?

secret cams. Shift light comes on at 6400, rev limiter is 6700.

No requires drilling the block.
