Threw A Rod Now What?

Yeha i just threw a rod dam nitrous switch hehe, oh well, but anyways is it replacable or would it be cheaper to buy a new engine or would any of you guys fix it for me =). Just a try cuz yeah im really bummed staying at home without my ride. =(

Your block is toast more then likely. If the rod didn't go through the block, there is a SLIGHT chance the affected cylinder could be drilled out and sleeved.. but that is quite unlikely. chances are the entire bottom end is useless to you know.

If the piston ricoched off the head as it threw the rod, then your head is damaged too. It may be able to be milled. If it hit the valves, chances are your valve train is screwed now, and your cam damaged.

So your best course of action is a new engine.
