HUGE HO manifold swap problem! HELP!!!!
Friday, January 27, 2006 3:49 PM
I finally swapped out the manifold on my 2.4 to the HO manifold that I had sitting on my shelf for the past 2 years. Everything looks like it is hooked up the way that it is supossed to be but I can NOT get the car to start and run???? The car will turn over and fire like it wants to run but as soon as it starts to run it dies! My THEFT light is blinking on my gauge cluster. Does that have anything to do with why it will not run? What should I do, or what should I check???? ANY suggestions will be a LOT of help!!!! I am temped to just swap out the manifold back to my stock plastic piece of !@#$ and so forget it. BUT I would rather get the advice from the masters and try to figure this dang thang out!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

I had to manually reset the computer to clear the theft deterent system. Everything else went pretty good! I still need to swap out my 2.4 tb with the 2.3 tb that I picked up yesterday. I am going to do it in the morning. Then I will FINALLY have it done!!
I met a GREAT guy name Scott off of here from Texas that was quick to help out and walk me through the steps on how to manually reset and clear my theft light. I had to start the car and let it die. (leave the key in the ON possision) Then waite for the theft light to stop blinking. Turn the key to the OFF possision. Then start the car. Worked the FIRST time. He told me that some people on here where saying that it may take up to 3 times to do this method to get the light to clear. I guess I got lucky!!

I hope that everything goes good for you when you do you swap "seasons"!!

Let me know how everything goes!

chris (customz24convertable) sells phenolic adapter flanges...they port match the manifold to the head to make the air more free flowing. The only other alternative is to get the head ported. The flange is also made of a material that doesnt transfer heat to the manifold from the head. On an hour or so drive to work my HO intake manifold is still cold. Great buy..
