I'm looking for a cheap intake to put a K&N filter on. Every cheap one on ebay that I've found was just like the 2200 intake, which doesn't fit the 2.2. I don't want to have to fork out the cash for an Injen if I can get the piping for cheaper.

so wait... you say you need an intake for a 2.2, and you have a 2002, but dont want one that fits then 2200? are you talking about the eco?
because i was able to find plenty of the $40is intakes for both...

This is a totally different car. 96 Sunfire. 2200 intakes are a dime a dozen.
I stated 2.2ohv.

One of my friends bought one for his 96 and it doesn't fit. It doesn't clear the raised part of the valve cover for the EGR.

if thats all you're worried about, put a small dimple in the tube, or angle it slightly further towards the firewall. there's plenty of play in the silicone coupler to pull it away from the crankcase vent.. mine fit fine without the dimple. got a k&n barrel filter with a 5* flange on it and bang, perfect ohv intake.

Definitely not looking to dimple the intake. Will look into it though thanks.

Where is the hole for the air temp control sensor on these intakes?
So you actually have to make your on hole for it you say? I was just curious because I'd see these cheap ones on ebay all day long. Can't seem to find the intakes they used to sell that had the same design as injen's intake for the 2.2. Bought that one in 2005 and ended up selling it to someone locally. That particular one came with the hole for the sensor and it came with a mounting bracket for the clutch fluid bottle and it was about $50 bucks shipped.
