pacesetter ball joint leak - finally happened to me

It lasted for a little over a year. A small leak started this week and i tried to fix it with new hardware, but today it sounds open header.

How are people fixing it? Flex pipe? Welded pipe instead of the ball joint?

I bought mine used from a buddy and i noticed there was a dent in the ball joint part of it where it would leak bad so i hacked it up threw on a 3" V-Band clamp and a small SS flex pipe.

I do not have a flexpipe anymore (hate them), just tighten the bolts.

the socket part of the down pipe snapped off where the bolt through hardware goes I guess it's off to the exhaust shop to get flex pipe installed.

I didn't think it would snap!! i have poly trans and motor mounts, so there is very little slop when i hit the gas. there is even an extra hanger down stream on the passenger side of the pipe to aleviate that twist inherent to our exhaust that pulls on the dp/header. @!#$ happens eh?

i've had my jet-hot coated pacesetter on for like 2+ years now. never had a leak, no flex pipe AND i ran it for a year with all stock mounts, that sucks. good luck with it.
