Notice how were all interested lol? I'd be curious about a 2.4l with 4 speed tranny + whatever else is needed for a swap.

Up for sale (2) 2.2 Ecotec engines. Only an hour maybe on each engine to ensure that the engines run in the factory. These were extra engines made for the cobalts and were left over in the factory These will fit cavalier's and sunfire's. Both engines have factory auto transmissions connected and will be seperated. Tranny will sell for $1500. Only run time is to ensure that they ran in the factory. BOTH ARE BRAND NEW! I can get pictures of them if anyone is interested.

Thats from the classifieds where i posted it, they are all stock, and all stock tranny's too. Everythig is factory, 0 miles and everything.

zipcode is 61021. Just to gauge shipping he sent a CAddy northstar to CA for $400, and an Ecotec is much lighter than the northstar.

This engine im sure will fit in the spot of a 2200 but you would have to fabricate new motor mounts. I was going to do this to my 2000 cavalier with the 2200 but i cant afford it now.

Email me and i can answer all you questions if i know the answer if not i can find the answer.

i know but try going to the dealer and buying tranny and engine for that price and see what they tell you. and the tranny alone is expensive. but they are like i said brand new. no miles at all. If i had the money id grab one, but i dont, these things are mint. plus you should talk to the guy that my friend is buying them from, he has sold atleast 20 2.2 ecotec's for over 3K out in LA. Some people think its hgh and i did too until i found out what dealers are charging for them. not including labor. plus i guess the tranny's are very expensive themself.

i could buy a mildly used engine and trans and have them built up for what you want for a stock one

Re: Need Connections

so then this doesnt apply to you nless you ahve some connections like i said not my engines but these are cheaper that GM and he will sell with a warranty of some sort. you would have to negotiate a deal with him. he doesnt use the internet since hes one of the old fashioned guys who didnt lwarn much about computers so thats why im doing this for him. Anyone have any connections to body shops/ mechanic shops?

Ill let you go to the dealer and get a qutoe for a 0 mile engine. i got quoted $5k with tranny and computer. And 3 for just engine, and 1750 for the tranny. i thought my friend was selling htem hi at first too until i went to a dealer.

Re: Need Connections

so its 3k from you for just the engine? if thats the case than why dont I just go to the dealer?

No the deal is 3K for engine and tranny together. plus im talking to him about offering some type of warranty with them too. Like i said i thought he should have dropped the price too until i got quoted.all that is needed for these to run is a computer fro the 2004 2.2 and an intake tube. Trust me these are BRAND SPANKING NEW. the factorty fills them with oil, runs then to make sure they are going to run,t hen empties them and ships them out. Yeah sure you can go to a junk yard and get one for as low as $800 or so but you never know what was done to it or how many true miles are on it or if anything was jarred or why the car is even there. IMO its a good deal just for the fact that if he throws in a warranty he is under GM by tons of money. plus he can get into a lot more motors if people are interested.

good point, do you know how hard it would be to throw it in a 98 that originally had a 2.2?
