Wow Brad: I think you may be biting off more than you can chew. Yet another year has gone by and neither one of your first two z24s even move. This car is obviously yet another project. How did you come up with the funds for this I thought you were more than tapped with the furnace just going out. Something tells me tuning this car is going to be a nightmare. Seriously think about what you are doing with your money. You could have easily had a nice balt ss by now atleast half way paid off. Either way good luck. By the way I demand that you have the white car driving for the next meet even if it is not exactly how you want it.

On a side note. I just got a second job at Dominos pizza ... again. Nessa started a second job at MIchaels the craft store. Things had been slow at her day job only like 25 hours a week. But hopefully this year is much better financially. Last year was horrible. Still not sure how much we owe in taxes.
I also picked up another hood and rear bumper for the evo that have the factory electric blue paint so all I have to do is put them on and I have some matching parts. Tyler bought me a front bumper for the evo. So that will be new. I am going to have the same guy that painted my IDI cover and cleared those nightshaded tails you now have paint the bumper. I will make sure it matches and then the evo will be DONE exterior wise. With one exception, I am still looking for the Evo X MR rims for it. The current rims I have the powdercoat is flaking off which pisses me off.
Also I have decided I am going to do Ragbrai this year. Thats the thing where you ride a bycycle across the state of Iowa. I think it starts in Sioux city too.

lol wade did you even read it?
i did not buy the car. JAY DID. i just bought the engine/trans/turbo kit. you had no trouble selling me your built engine for 'another project'. so why is this one 'biting off more than i can chew?'
i like having options. i may or may not put the engine in the black car. i may build it into a stroker. i may do a lot of things.... but you of all people have no room to talk about it when you had WAY more stuff than you could handle for a very long time. i dont feel like there is anything wrong with buying engines and engine parts because well, lets face it... sooner or later they will blow up, get destroyed, or ruined in some way. i spent less than $400 on the entire set-up. thats an amazing deal. the pistons inside the engine alone cost more than that.
the furnace is getting repaired shortly, the need for an entirely new unit was overly exaggerated. we had a second person come in and look it over and said the other guy was high on glue and trying to sell @!#$. it still works and really has not shut itself off since that night so i really dont know why the hell it happened. but it does need some maintenance.
i dont need to answer to anybody, if i want to take my time building my cars i will. i do have two kids that are starting school this fall and my attention needs to be going to them more and more. however, i will get something going for this summer, more than likely will be mel's car. which is fine for me. hoping to put the lingenfelter kit on it and have some fun at the track.
ps, you know as well as i do the balt ss will never happen because i am too stubborn and will not be satisfied with something used. i want a brand new one off the show room floor and that isnt going to happen.
good job on the second employment. i know something must have been up because you have been real quiet lately.
and wow, ragbrai? thats a hell of an undertaking. you best be in the shape of your life!!!!!
It seems like you have focused on buying parts. Don't you think it is time for some of those parts to actually go into a car. LOL Nice does not even begin to describe your white car and yet it is sitting on jackstands right now correct? You know as well as do I that if you focused on just that car it would be done right now. Maybe not boosted but atleast driveable.
Sure I have bit off more than I can chew before so I know all about it. It is a crappy situation to be in. Having one nice car is better than five projects that all need your attention and money.
I have completly given up dirtikes and ATV's for the time being. I did not have the time or the place to ride them. I did not have the money to maintain them and a street bike and 4 cars. It was a hard decision but in the end it will be better. I will be much easier for me to keep my other things in better condition.
Lately I have been very focused on the evo. I am trying not to hoard parts for anything and keep up with selling things I don't really have use for. Things are starting to get consolidated and I have more money to finish the important things and more time. I can't describe to you how good it feels. However I am about to focus my attention back to the cavalier and get it all put back together.
Glad to hear your furnace is not going to cost you as much as previously thought.

i do buy a lot of parts.. and quite a few im sure i could pass on.
however, one day these parts will not be around and un-available. its hard to pass on something you KNOW goes for a lot of cash, is a hard find to begin with, and could maybe make you some money down the road but is an amazing deal.
reason not a lot has been accomplished is because its cold, i absolutely hate working on a car in the cold. the way i see it is if i gotta suffer to work on a hobby then its no longer a hobby. but i have been slowly picking at it here and there. this spring my attention is going to mels car, then after its running and put together i will throw myself into the white car.
It shouldn't take too long to get Mels car up and going....well depending on what all you have planned for it that is. lol
nothing too much really...
swap motor from whitey in (first ive got to swap out the secret intake cam for an LD2 and put in a new water pump)
put on dspecs/tenzo springs, OEM rear tie bar, control FX subframe brace, dc sport front strut brace, and rk sport rear strut brace
put on srt-4 rims
take pin stripping off
put cf hood on (maybe trunk too)
get new 95-99z front sprayed silver
install new clear headlights/corners/bumper lights
put on wade's nightshaded tails
possibly get some paintless dent repairs done (its got some bad dents)
thats pretty much it. it needs a windshield, new speakers, and the alarm/remote start all sorted out but thats not hard.
