St. Louis area help 99 2.4L
Monday, October 04, 2010 2:05 PM
Is there anyone in the st. louis area that has done a water pump on a 2.4L that could help me do a water pump and timing chain in my garage for a case of beer and a tank of gas, or something else? My water pump just let loose in my driveway this afternoon with no warning. I have the jack stands, engine brace, and probably all the tools needed to do the job I just dont have the knowlege or the guts to attempt the install by myself. If you have done it before and have the time to help me please either post, pm me, or give me a call at 314-303-9061.

thanks a lot,
-Brian

Gah, waterpump is a pain in the ass to do on the poor Jbody. Just take your time, and you should be good.

Good luck though, if I were closer, I would come help.

thanks a lot guys. i called around to a couple of shops today and found one local shop that gave me a quote of $300 labor. I told him i would go to buy the parts, cause he doesnt get a discount at any parts stores to save him the trip. again thanks a lot for your responses.

$300 is probably worth it to save you the hassle, its not a fun job

I have done a bunch of em... I don't mind helping you out, but a case of beer and a tank of gas is not enough to cover this amount of work.... What have you been quoted and by what shop? What part of STL you in? Also, is it an auto or manual?
