3.8 Swap Help!
Monday, March 12, 2012 9:16 PM
I've got a bone stock 98 RS and would like to drop an L67 in it. I was wondering what all i'd need to do and what i need to purchase. We've got a general idea, but I just want some more opinions.

Thank you! Which do you think would be better looking at it in an performance/work ratio. An Eco swap or the 3.8? Cause i was reading around and was confused on the whole ecotec not bolting up to the OHV speed.

Either way you go you will need a new transmission to go with that engine. I have a 00 vert Z and I did a eco swap, and it was extremly simple. But thats only able to be said about the 00+ J's. The 95-99 can be done, but need a little bit of wiring work to make the harness for the eco work. Not crazy as its been done, but none the less, work. If I had the time, I would have put the 3.8 into my car, but I didnt (at the time) have the resources. Either way you go, it should make it a fun car
