Tuesday, March 01, 2005 3:45 PM
Looking for something around $1500. If you know anyone in WI selling, Im looking to buy it within the next 3 weeks. Needs to be tandem axle, elec. brakes, and a dovetail(slants down at the rear of the trailer), perferably black also. There are tons on eBay but I dont feel like driving 20 hours round trip to pick them up.

Im looking for something like this......

or this........

Already did. The only ones they have in there are ones from trailer companies that are overpriced.

There's a trailer sales place in West Salem. I know the owner and could maybe get you a deal. If you get over there to check out their selection I could ask about prices for ya.

You could always try building your own brian, you could even paint it to match your car if you wanted. You seem like your pretty good at fabrication with all the work you've done to your car. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, but who knows since I've never built one. Its just a frame with attachments for axles and a tounge so you can pull it right? I think the biggest think would be to make it light as possible and get the right tounge weight. You would only need brakes on one axle. Northern hydraulics I think is the place that has axles cheap and fleet farm has one without brakes for about $100 I believe. I had a few links and plans on building one because I've been thinking about giving it a shot someday. I'll see if I can dig any of them up if your interested. I know there are a lot of people who build trailers around here, but I haven't priced them. I thought m schettl sales in oshkosh always had ads in that free paper for trailers in that price range.

Cool. With the price of steel now, I don't know how much could really be saved building your own. http://www.coloradok5.com/forums/archive/index.php/f-42.html This one trailer forum I found though for some interesting reading.
