Monday, April 25, 2005 1:35 PM
Just seeing if there is any other interest in going here, Me and Drew are going early so he can get his tank filled at SoundConnection and then head to the track. I know Roy you were thinking of comming ... now I looked on the BIR site and they dont have a section saying the times and open track days anymore. Do you remeber what time the Gates open and the Prices?? Please post those up ..

Anyways .. Let me know if anyone else is interested and wants to meet up, Later

Can we get 1/4 times there? And can I borrow someone elses helmet that is there? I get out of class at 4 and I don't think I have anything else, I may go.

The track was awesome! What a beautiful day to go racing. My first time ever for many things. I ran my Cavy (look in profile for specs) three times. A big thank you to Roy, who rocks by the way, for letting me use his helmet for my runs! This was my first time ever at a 1/4 mi track, first ever (legal) drag race, first time using a christmas tree and the first time I've ever gotten a time slip. Also it is the first time my car has ever been on a track. Before I tell you how I ran, I know you're dying to know, I'd like to say some more thank you's. Thank you to Mattie for helping me prep my car with CAI, decals, supplying a leatherman, borrowing me JB weld, and for becoming a great friend. Thank you to Tiffany, my girlfriend, for putting up for me, being our teams (Team PROZ Racing) graphics designer, and being there for me at the race track. Thank you to Ryan for sponsoring the trip with his money and being there with me at the track. Also, a thank you to my sponsors Blaupunkt and Decalkits.com. Also a big thank you to Roy and Gabriel for giving me advice on how to help out my runs. Without you guys it would not have been possible to get the times (not great) that I did. Now for the fun part. The first race was up against a Honda Civic, he won. This was my first time at a christmas tree and I pulled a 17.0. Second run against a Dodge Ram, who must have had bank under the hood, he won. I received a 16.8. Third run was up against Gabe, I'll let him tell you who won if he wants to (less than 1/10th of a second between us). I got a 16.4. Well, hope you enjoyed my story.

im not even going to say what my times were yesterday my car was running like @!#$
and i could not get traction with the tires i have unless i heated them up in the water box.
my 60' times were 2.5 all night until my last couple runs when i heated up the tires and hit 2.3's still not good though. ill be on the dyno this weekend hopefully and ill find out whats not running right on the car

stock i was running a 16.3 and last night i couldnt barely get below 16.6.

a trick though for all you ecotec guys though i got down to 16.3 consistantly. by removing the serpentine belt you'll drop .1 off your time. and if you take out your rear seat and passenger seat, and run without an air cleaner (open TB) you'll drop another .2 sec.

well anyways bad night over all and i have to head for class

Nah i dont need to use it again lol, im building up my tranny this time. We came the the conclustion that my tranny mounts are bad, i have no LSD and the 18's are some of the problem .. so i ordered an LSD, poly tranny mounts and now i need to find a couple stock cavi wheels. I am also trying some different driveaxels, not performance because i dont ahve the $600 to throw around now.

Roy - lol, me and drew got to sound connection to get his tank filled and they were out so he only got about a pound or two in the tank, pointless. So we went over to the track and it was like 730 and they were closing up in 10 mins so we said @!#$ it and went to Pirates Cove lol!

I WILL! be there on the 25th ... and i WILL race

Alex and Roy you guys planning on going back on the 25th then?

How were the track conditions btw, that may have made a difference in the times ... i bet once the season gets going and the temp warms the track up a bit it will be nice. You can see the 60' times are in the 2.5+ range on Alexes slips .. nice times tho for your first time!

Thanks for the compliment Street Cavi. I may make the trip back down on the 25th, don't know if I'll be racing. Might just chill and watch the action this time until I get some more things on my car. But, you never know.

Hey everyone, sorry to bring up a dead post if it is. But, I have some pics for you all from BIR!

This is one of my car next to Roy's. Though taken into the sun, I thought it was good.

This pic is of me and my car. It is photoshopped a little because the camera screwed up.

This is me in my Cavy with Roy's helmet on and shades, yay!

This is a picture of my sponsor decals. Blaupunkt and Decalkits.com rule!
