selling car for cheap
Tuesday, June 21, 2005 5:12 PM
i've been undecided on whether or not i wanted to sell my car for the past few months, and finally i feel like it's time to get rid of it. it's just been sitting in my mom's driveway for 2 months. i never drive it b/c i live on the east side by uwm and i never need to drive anywhere and parking is hard to come by. i am also unable to finish the car b/c i don't have time or money to put into it. so i hope that by selling it for a good price someone will buy it that wants to work on it still. i was in the middle of rebuilding the engine and putting on an irs from a grand am gt. with my lack of time and money i am unable to finish those projects so i'm going to include everything with the car. the engine parts include...venolia pistons, eagle rods, spare block and engine stand, 2.3 oil system parts minus oil pump, and a spare crank. i also have a 1st gen dsm bov that i was going to switch too, a new set of ngk tr6 iridium plugs, and an HO exhaust cam and LO intake cam. i have the 2.3 cam housing and lifters for the HO cam, but i didn't get the LO cam modified yet. all that i wanted to fix on the car for the summer, but haven't had a chance to do was, fix the e-cutout, finish some pcm wiring, and possibly get a new clutch. i was planning on using a flywheel from a w41 with the new clutch b/c it's lightweight and it matches up w/ my tranny, so if the buyer wants it then i'll include that also. i'd just hope to get $5300 for the car, but i'm open to any reasonable offers. all my mods are in my registry. if there are any questions just email me or post it.

Good luck with school.

Sorry to hear Nick, after all that work it's a shame you have to part with it. What do you mean by "finish some pcm wiring", I thought you had it all running right?

Either way, good luck with the sale.

regarding the pcm wiring, i never wired up the passenger side remote lock. i only did the driver side b/c the pass. side didn't matter to me. other then that everything else is done.

ok, here's the deal...i finally drove my car from my mom's to my house on the east side lastnight, only to find out that my plates were missing. someone stole my damn plates, and i don't want to go to the dmv and get new ones. i'm so upset right now i just want to get rid of the car. so i'll sell it all for $4,000. FYI, i recommend a new clutch (it still grabs fine, but chatters) and bleed the brakes.

Before you sell the car (if you can) post up some instructions for the 2K wiring

Nick, do you still have the '99 ECU for the car? Please send me an email, I'll be in the Milwaukee area this Saturday. If I could borrow or even rent it from you, I'd be grateful.

brian w has my '99 ecu, so i'm sorry i cna't help you with that. as far as the wiring goes...all of the diagrams i have are going with the car, and i don't have time to make a how-to for it.
