Tachometer install

I know this a newbie’s questions but ... I have been looking for the right wiring diagram for my 1998 cavalier with a 2200 in it. witch wire do I need to hook it up to some people say the purple wire but that’s not right so I am asking for help thanks

big tach's are stupid loooking.

get a gauge cluster from a z24, or a 2.2 5 speed and it swaps in, no mods. Just your mileage is off. But you can roll it back somehow i heard.

If you want to keep your current cluster, the above is your best option. If you dont care, then buying a cluster from a junkyard for $50 is a lot easier and better looking imo. The interchange for my '98 was 96-98 but I dont see why you couldnt find a 98-99 with digital odo and have it work.
