I'm just looking for the base engine with tranny at a reasonable cost of course.

Depends if you want the 3.8L N/A block (VIN 'K'), or is you want the S/C'd (VIN '1').

Either way, there are plenty at local junkyards, full blocks, ecu, manifolds, trannies, etc.

Prices will be between 1-2G.

Careful.. cause most wreckers are notorious for ROLL-BACKS
