I need to know when having a leased car if it's permittable to change the oil your self. I am looking to do this to save a few bucks.

Yes it is. Just keep the receipts and stuff as proof it was done.

it has nothing to do with the dealer...the car is leased through GMAC im assuming which means its fine to do it yourself

Keep the receipts like everyone says (thats what my dealer told me..Ontario Motor Sales). Its pretty obvious if a car hasn't been maintained, and likewise its obvious if its been taken care of. So they don't care who did it as long as it got done.

I was also told by a dealer one time that you can do them yourself as long as you keep the receipts/records.

My 3 year warranty is over though and still have a few months left on the lease. Not sure if it matters after the warranty is expired.

If I don't get financing to purchase my car after the lease I am screwed anyway.
