involved in a hit and run

I was at work and my car was parked outside, and this guy (courier) pulled up in Ford Econoline to deliver something to a paint store. When he was leaving the guy started backing up and he got close to my car and the witness started honking to let him know there was a car, he just backed into it anyways, and drove off. The witness came into my work and told me then we got all the info:

I got his name (partly), company he works for, bosses name, bosses#, good description of the van, and i have the witnesses name/number.

I just called the cops so they are coming soon to file a report.

I'll get pics as soon i can, sort of mad

If anyone has a 2000-2002 Silver rear bumper for sale let me know, thanks3

THIS GUY IS GETTING A NICE HELPING OF JUSTICE SHOVED UP HIS ASS

i hope everything turns out okay... some guy backed up his envoy into my girlfriends car last week... we got ALL of his information and at the time he was very courtious and willing to pay... now he won't return our calls... now we're going to have to go to small claims court... what a headache...

I might head up to a GM dealer to get a quote how much to fix it, cops said i might get some money from the company.

Is it a good idea to call the insurance company?

Sorry to burst your bubble... but all that this guy is going to get is a reprimand from his boss. Business, especially courier businesses, have commercial insurance. It's just a matter of business for these companies...

If you really want to make things right... ask the company where you can send your car for repairs and get a couple of quotes... and get the $ and fix and mod the car yourself.... (thus avoiding an insurance claim)

ya im gonna avoid the insurance company, but the cops said its a good idea to call them and say that u were involved in a hit and run and the cops said that the companies insurance will pay for it. I'm gonna head to a Big GM dealership nearby after the long weekend for a quote and i'll somewhere else too maybe.

If you report it to insurance, it is filed against you as a claim.

Also in ontario we have no-fault insurance. YOUR company will pay to fix the car, not theirs.

You want to get bent over twice as hard? Call your insurance company.

According to this website, no fault only applies to bodily injury and not property damage.

Update:

I haven't contacted the insurance yet... hahaha

The cops have called me and have told me that the guy didn't notice me. He has called me and told me he wants to take care of everything this week. This guy is an immigrant and he hasn't been in this country for a long time so I don't know if he'll pay. But I might ask for like 300$ cash buy a bumper from the wreckers polish it and wax it and put it on myself. Spend the rest of the money on a few mods. The dealer is gonna charge 750$ for a new bumper with install and paint. The other indepedant shops charge the same price because they get their parts from GM anyways.

We might call him up and say yo man you haven't paid anything and I'm going to contact my lawyer. What do you think? My insurance won't cover this and Ive got a police report. What do you guys think I should do? call the compnay?
