Mazda 6 headlight conversion $$$???
Thursday, June 11, 2009 7:18 PM
Let's just say if something were to happen to me... whether it be me loosing my job, health, family, etc and I were in a position to part out the car....

What kind of $$ do you think I could get for my front end?

I've always been curious since I did all the work myself... so I can't put a price tag on it. I would estimate a good 1800-2000hrs in glassing and trouble shooting was put into it... never kept track of the hours.

F1 Fenders
Extractor Hood
Drift Front
Headlights
Headlight harness and brackets
Install instructions

Everything is direct bolt on to existing mounting holes.

For some of you that may be worried.... no I'm not selling the front end... I've always been curious.... but hey... anything could happen.

Hey if you were to sell the front end it would only to make an EVEN BETTER one right? lol

If it were me front bumpers usually go for $200-$300, Headlights $300+ (not sure of the value so guessing), the wiring $100 or less, Fenders $200+ Customizing so $300, hood $500+ not sure what you paid so guessing. So roughly $1700 not including the sweat you've put into it. Going on a 'used' value I'd say $1500 for a lowball. I'll leave the rest of the figures up to the imagination.

I would also have to say $1,500 as a lowball also.

Extremely nice front. Just not a fan of the drift.

I was only say the price for what people would pay. I know its worth more and everything but people wont pay the price to have it. I have many people try and buy stuff from me and always low balls even when I put a below average price on it. Good luck if you deside to sell.

I think, in all honesty and if you held out for the right buyer, you could see a thousand dollars.

Just get wayders to colour match and you could see 1500 no problem!

IMO its worth the money, you get brand newish headlights with dual projectors, wiring and instructions on how to mount and everything.

the hard work is already done...

but dont sell it, some one else will ruin it.

What determines "worth"?
What you paid for it? No.
What the parts are worth? No.
What it would cost to duplicate? No.
Rarity? No.

A products value is determined by what a buyer (if there even is one) is willing to pay. A Hummer is useless to someone that can't afford the gas no matter what the deal on the vehicle is. While J owners are cheap by default, they are not being cheap by stating what THEY feel the front end conversion is worth to them. Are they "Correct " in saying it's only worth $300 to them? YES. Because the buyer determines the price. There simply may be no interest in the conversion except a basement price.

Don't be insulted, just be ready in the future to more carefully choose what types of investments you make. Not enough people realize every purchase they make on anything technically is an investment to be sold at a later date. Your investment has poor resale value, making it a bad investment. That reflects on you, not the "cheap" buyers you are trying to convince to purchase your investment.

what determines a old thread?

i'd say a year lol

Re: Mazda 6 headlight conversion $$$???

lol wow... thread from the dead

Kidding me? I would never sell this conversion... just like I said in the OP.

The investment is my satisfaction. Can't put a price tag on that.

The post was a joke back in 09 lol

As for the "how to"... you guys can use the "how to" I used.
