Thought I would drop a line and say HELLO.Currently my house add is making progress the sheet rock is up and doped for the seems.I did manage to drive the old cavy about a wk ago just to keep it alive while I await my garage to be finished so I can pull it and do the much needed axle replacement and front end work I planned. The dust from the sanding made a hell of a mess in my house even with plastic up I spent almost 7 hrs cleaning my house today and the garage and its CLEAN.I hope to start priming the walls for paint in the garage in a wk or two and things are coming together. That's the scoop and just to revive this post and wave at all thos nc js too.

Hi too all it's been a long time since I posted here in this forum. My house add on is done,at least since june, and have done some work on the old cavy in the last few months.I was trying to hold out and do a complete front end resto job b4 replacing my left/right axles but, money is slim so I am going to start the job SOON.Car runs fine just leaks like a biatch at that half shaft seal so I do not drive it much do to that.Just checking in and saying I am still here on jbody more so reading and posting in the 1st gen stuff but ,do surf on here when I have time.Hope things are ok with all the local js people here in NC.

Fayetteville here, seen some nice J's in town, but haven't seen too many on the JBO though. Wish I could meet up with others around here to talk about J's. I have had several chances to get rid of my J, but I just love the car. If you Fayetteville J's are out there, hit me up.

Well I'm in Burnsville, NC(45mins from Asheville, 60mins to Morganton(SP?) and Johnson City, Tenn)
As far as I know I'm the only rep from Burnsville. ha. stupid town.

Anyone know someone who drives a Black(with metallic speckles) Z24 W/ a aluminum spoiler?
I've seen the car a few times out in Spruce Pine.

wow, I just found this site I cant believe how many people close I am not in NC though VA here 45 or so miles from the triad. no current J-body on road thinking of putting one back on road, or buying 1 that I recently I located that regenerated interest.

I have a 1984 Pontiac 2000 turbo/SE hatch I bought new & I am original owner & it has 23,000 original miles

also have a normally aspirated 1984 2 door sedan I inherited from my mother when she died 113,000 miles we bought the sunbirds same time.

been on other avenues with GM cars pontiac 6000 & a few plymouths & just trying to decide what avenues to take.

later,
Randy

Well it took long enuff to find this OLD thread! Just dropping a line and saying I still have the old 85 cav and lots of work done to it in the last yr.The engine has been completely been repainted (primed/painted eng paint) and lots of extras while doing so.I still have to dial in the timing on it to get it running due to removing the intake(had to pull distributor) and then next is some NEW axles I have in the house.I hope to get this car put together so I can drive it some being spring is like here.I just wanted to drop a line to all those and know there are people all over the state and chime in.I hope to do more resto work on this old ride like brakes and front suspension this yr time and money are the key tho.

Currently i have tenzo R passion 5 rims...upgraded ecu...custom piped cool air intake that is located in the front air dams of the front bumper..i have it split off at the throttle body by a Y pipe to run 2 of them for optimum air flow. Working on getten the rest of the body kit on it and at the moment have to rebuild the engine...had some lifters start tapen on me in th Z24...but hopefully i'll have it up and running again soon. when i have time i'll post pics.

Hey to all those Jbody people in NC!!!. I have not posted on this post in some time.I have finished my engine paint resto stuff. However I still need to replace my left and right side cv axles.I still need to buy two seals for my transmission since the driver sides is leaking like a river.I have the axles just got to buy the two seals since I will being doing both sides and buy a puller in case I need it.I have been pretty busy working and dumping LOADS of money in my daily 87 mazda b2200 cabplus truck I bought new in the last 7 months.I have spent close to 2000.00 into in the last seven months.Short list radiator, heater core(poor heating in the winter this yr) and new waterpump,tb,new rear brakes, new front pads, rotors, bearings, races, seals, calipers, new clutch kit, pilot brg, throw out,new flywheel(had the orig) rebuilt the top half carb, had the the ring/pinion in the rear end(broken teeth) had my fav local mazda dlr do the rear end stuff.I could ramble on but, wanted to touch base and say hello. My cav still sits in my garage covered until I do the axles,I want to hold out and do my struts when I do this to save time and do a resto on the metal stuff at the same time.I may just have to do the axles and seals on the trans and wait on the struts there not cheap going with the quick strut from monroe from advance for 180.00 a piece (ouch). My update for the last months on end saga.
