Moving to Cocoa Beach / Melbourne Area
Saturday, March 12, 2005 6:01 PM
Hey guys, since my last topic didn't catch very many eyes I'll try it this way! I was wondering if somebody could help me out locating a place down there and getting a idea of costs? I will be moving down there Mid-April when my wife gets stationed at Patrick. Hit me up on AIM at LemonYellowCavy! Any help is appreciated. I also plan to make a trip down next Sat or the following Sat. I am only in Jax so it's not that far.

Look on realtor.com...........My aunt and uncle live down there. He retired out of Patrick some years ago. ALso, your wife's relocation office should be supplying her with relocation info, local contacts, etc., for the area! Being former USAF myself, and growing up in the USMC, i have been through several moves and your wife should expect this out of her relocation office. IF not, she needs to get on their ass! Awesome area though! Have fun!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris: Unsure at this time. We will be in the middle of moving at that time and finding a place to live. It will come down to that day if I get to go or not.

Are you looking to move on base? Or are you looking for something within a reasonable commuting distance?

What kind of price limit are you planning to set? House prices have gone up drastically around here (like everywhere else) over the last year and a half. Big growth areas include the Suntree/Viera area (very nice locale), Rockledge (where I live), Southwest Palm Bay (kinda out of the way), and North Titusville (about equal distance between Orlando and Melbourne). Living on the beach means paying a lot of money, having traffic issues, needing to evacuate for storms, and other downfalls. I personally prefer the mainland, but whatever floats your boat.

If you ever need a tour around the area or need someone to go check a place out, let me know.

Just an interesting thing in the local paper today.

The median cost of homes in Brevard county have hit over $200,000 for the first time ever.
