oil pump died, motor to follow

well, after 189,000 faithful miles, the quad has finally ended it's run. Now it's off to Mantapart to get a HO quad and a new computer. problem is I don't have the money to get the flywheel and the clutch I wanted, so the motor will have to come out again in the near future to upgrade that. $2500 for the new motor, and $250 for the chip. with all the shipping it will drain my $300 budget right away. It's worth it since I can'tafford a new car right now, and I have a lot invested in the fire already.

if any of you out there can get me a 92-94 quad4 HO cheaper (cheap enough so I can get the proper head and the clutch/flywheel) I would appreciate it.

If you need any help with the engine swap let me know. I don't know a ton about doing it but i'll try to help you with some wrench time.

I would visit Mantapart in person, I would never trust paying them that high of an amount and expecting it to be shipped. I've heard quite a few people having issues with Mantapart and high dollar items.

yeah, they say the motor is in one of the virginias, and ships truck freight.

Got some more news though...the mechanic says I can still drive on the motor, just no long trips and I get to replace the oil pump today (YIPPIE!!!)

Josh from TRS can make me a 2.6L stroker shortblock for about the same price, then I need the head, intake (may be able to use the 95 intake without much loss) and exhaust (there's a header in the works as I write this) I'll still get the chip from Manta (since I believe it's the only one) and the clutch/flywheel from TRS (spec3 with 9.5lb flywheel)

And Red, if you want to hang out for the oilpump change I don't mind, just shoot me a pm or an email and I'll post up directons, the garage is in the Bellevue area, like 20 from Milan Rte 250.
