e check stands for emissions check...i dont think the air bag light would cause a problem

well i was just told that if ANY light is on, you fail. they'll tell you to come back in 2 weeks! now i have to get into my air bags and figure out what's going on!

I thought they did away with E-check? I would think the same thing as Zips, that the airbag light shouldn't be a problem considering the check has to do with emissions and an airbag wouldn't classify as that. I honestly dont know how it works though cause thankfully we dont have to do it! Good luck though!!!

It might just be a plug that is messed up, but you could try to take the batt out for like an hour or so to reset the computer. Airbag light on with airbags in doesn't sound to fun if you ask me.

In Jan. when i went to get my e-check, they failed me because my serpentine belt started to make noise at idle. I had to change it and go back and pay the 19.50 again. It was @!#$ b.s.

You should have only had to pay the 19.50 once.

Any light on and you will fail, been there done that, with 3 different card. my traction off light was on and they refused to even test the car because they seen a light on. they told me that if there is a light on and even if you pass emmisions you still fail because there is a light on.

if you reset ur battery right before you go they are able to tell which is why I told you they will make you come back in 2 weeks they did it to me and the vert before I had that o2 sensor fixed.

but there are ways around it in many aspects

You will not fail with "any" light on...only if its the SES/ CHECK lights.....I have been through there way too many times with way too many vehicles......Hell about 2 months ago I went through there with my airbag light on because I have no airbag Hell, I really dont know how I passed, I had turbo spooling and raw fuel coming out the tail pipe..... If your car is OBD2, which your is, they will just plug the scanner in and read for codes....As long as you havent recently erased some trouble codes and the ECU has passed its readiness tests, you pass....If you have not passed your readiness tests, they will run it on the rollers....Then after all that, they will pressurize your EVAP system and gas cap....Then your hand them $19.50 and and b!tch and moan on the way out because your government is screwing you....If you dont pass, your firsts 2 tests are FREE, on the third, you pay no matter what....

When I went I had my Traction Control light on because of my Auto Trans Interceptor and I had my Check Engine light on because of O2 sensor with my Hi Flow Cat.

I went to New Lebanon to a friends shop to get it erased and drove right pass the E Check on I-35(Because that I heard that Place is Anal) I am guessing that is where you went Cheeter. I went strait to the one in Trotwood by Hara Arena where I have gone to since it started because I have always known them to be nicer to the modded Cars .
I haven't had a promblem yet Even with my Traction Control light on.

ZDueceQuad also goes to that one and he has no promblems and he doesn't have Airbags. Sooo I suggest to go there.

thanks for the info! someone mentioned their serpentine belt making noises. now i have that to worry about because mine does too. i have the SD hood for grand ams. the passenger side vent is open on both ends, as opposed to the driver's side because of the filter being right there. we didn't attach the water catch before putting the hood on (was too excited to get the hood on) so now my belt makes noise because of the water getting to it. do i really have to change it before i go? it doesn't make noise all the time. course it would be my luck to go and it be really loud!
