I just made friends with a Marine Corps guy stationed in Japan with access to a salvage yard... i will be getting the 00 + tails, and the leather bound steering wheel + Toyo Airbag cover in the near future...

the cobalt needs to finish it's break in period before you dyno solid numbers......atleast wait until your first oil chnge to get on it...also don't use your cruise control......after you break it in...you'll prolly free up 10-15 whp

how so???

Re: GM-Revolution
Thursday, July 31, 2008 4:45 PM
my bad guys it was 239whp & yea ur right it does still need to be broken in but it only has 55hp claim over the supercharged version (205 vs 260) anyway & we all kno the supercharged version was underrated. Its a tricky platform no hp Tuners support yet so...yea but none the less it walks out on stock Evo's, havent tried an Evo X & dont really plan on it, STi's, SRT-4's, Mustang GT's & LT1 Camero's still babying it to be honest.

Assuming you have put at least $10,000 in to your motor (as the best LN2 tuners will tell you, it's not cheap to make an LN2 fast), you are probably sitting around 190 - 210 WHP. (less if you have spent less money)... the Cobalt SS Turbocharged puts out 260 HP, and through the getrag tranny sits about 240 to the Wheels. Change up to a bigger turbo and you'll see much more power. 99.9% of the LN2s on this site couldn't touch a stock SS Turbocharged, and the .01% that can, couldn't touch a modified SS.

well last time I dynoed it was at 222hp and 275tq. that was with a small ebay t3 48hot 42cold on 15psi untuned. and if you were to look in my reg you would c that I have a bigger turbo and pushing 18psi. and a couple other things to go along with it.. You have no Idea how much money or time I have spent in my car. lets c what you run Oh I c a garbage 16sec wow. oh and wait just because My name isn't on that list means absolutely NOTHING. For instance Ryan Egleston had 287whp and 271wtq before his blew. and thats with a stock bottom end and those numbers arent on there are they. heres the link http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=40&i=153154&t=153154 . no one has seriously pushed this motor defiantly not you so then again you have no idea. Next time you post think about what your saying because you kno nothing. oh and Im not saying my car is the fastest I just want to c how the new cobalt does. cause I realy doubt that it can beat evos and stis. stis have been rated around 300 for a while.

Re: GM-Revolution

that 16 is on a bad track... its best time is 14.7 ALL MOTOR no cheater boost... and i could eclipse 222 WHP all motor no boost no nitrous.... Can you??? =P

Now leave my car out of this unless you are prepared to unhook your charge pipe and go motor for motor at a track...

-------------------------------------

Now back on topic...

So all that money and you're just hanging even with a STOCK Cobalt SS... you failed to address what would happen if the Cobalt SS upgraded the turbo... you upgraded your motor, so the Cobalt can upgrade theirs. Do you honestly think if you max out your LN2 you'll beat a maxed out cobalt SS. Its a losing battle man.

If you can make your LN2 reach 500 + HP (the Eco has seen it, the LD9 has seen it), then i will never give the LN2 @!#$ again... until that day, you need to concede to the fact that your motor does not have the potential as a DOHC Motor.

Finally....

Doesn't sound like you were "Just trying to see what it could do" so don't come here with that BS.

Bottom line... Don't ask people to street race in here.

Meh... are you serious???

I think you've been out of it too long playing with the V8.... Most 4 cyls average around 150ish N/A stock, with some pulling and better, and the weaker ones pulling less...

but in all good fun, you might as well add to your sig that im also getting 32 MPG Gas milage....

still lame. we're not talking about stock cars here, it's all about how much money you want to spend. it doesn't matter if it has 4 cylinders or 16. there are plenty of na cars beating fi cars out there pound for pound. it's how you go about doing it.

JBO Chat User: SpeedlineZ wrote:but in all good fun, you might as well add to your sig that im also getting 32 MPG Gas milage....

so am i.

turbos, mild cam, 6 gears, 3.42 final drive, and viper gearing do a lot for mpg. try again.

on top of that, my 87 nova got 40mpg and now my metro gets 50mpg. if i'm really worried about gas i'd drive one of them. one shouldn't expect to get great gas milage while trying to go fast.
