Power Steering Pump Problems

ok, so i go to turn the wheel and nothing.....no power steering so im thinking mabe i have a leak in the hose and the tank is dry...errrr wrong, plenty of fluid, no strange noises, no leaks any wear yet somehow NO POWER STEERING.....what in the world is the problem? <br> <img src=http://www.j-body.org/registry/wa2fast/corner%20angle.jpg>

It is possible you have sheared off the shaft that drives the pump from the cam. That happened to me, of course, I was REALLY abusing the cars cornering ability when I did mine.

You can pull the pump off the cam housing VERY VERY easily. Just pull the pump off and make sure the shaft connectiing the pump and the cam is still connected and not broken.


Another quick check is take the cap off while the car is running. You should see some fluid movement inside. I know when mine was broke, you could take off the cap, and the fluid was perfectly still. <br>
