it's a 2 day autox run at Mid-State airport out towards State College PA.

details can be found here

just a heads up, you will need to pre-register for this event if you plan on attending. I'll be heading up Friday to hopefully help with course creation and get some non-comp runs in before the event. I'm planning on getting a camp site @ Black Moshannon State park but there is camping available for free at the airport (no electric/no showers/portajon's for bathrooms once the airport is locked up) or you could be a wuss like Kyle and rent a hotel room.

anybody else coming??

Im registered and going and willing to split a hotel room for friday and saturday night.

What do I need since it's sanctioned? DOT Approved helmet and everything not bolted in the passenger's compartment out? This is in my hometown!

I have to wait until saturday to see what my work schedule is, but then I hope to help out friday or go 1 of 2 competition days.

I know I am off, making it and being able to afford it is a different story.

basically, you'll need a snell2005 or newer approved helmet. car must pass tech which is usually: no sticking throttle, functioning brakes, all loose crap in the interior removed/fastened down, battery tied down, wheels bolted on with no play at any of the 4 corners.

A stock cavalier from 2000 with street tires is HS, correct? and I'm a first-timer, so I will become HS-N?

yes. A stock cavalier on r-comps would be in HS too. So long as it was on the stock wheel size.

I'll be there at the very least to watch. Do you have to be registered for Saturday/Sunday to participate on Friday?

I'm not sure about registration with the non comp runs Friday. May want to check with the event chair. His email is listed on CPRs website. Make sure you pre register if you do want to run Sat/Sun.

I had a great day at the auto-x school up here the instructors couldnt believe how well it handled for a cavalier.

I couldn't attend; I got called into work today because someone at my place of employment keeps No-showing. I have work tomorrow, so that's a no-go. If I'm off some time in august, I may come up for another CPA meet at Mid-State.

Yea, we got my cousin hooked on it. He took 1st place in the Novice class with his 02 WS6 T/A. Spencer took 1st in SMF on Saturday and 2nd in SMF for the overall weekend. I didnt actually place, but they screwed up the SM/SMF scoring and called my name for winning even thou i was no where near Spencers times.
