1987 sunbird gt convertible

I am thinking about having a rebuilt engine installed in my 1987 sunbird convertible. I am looking for suggestions as where to purchase a motor with a warranty on it. I am also trying to gauge what the right price would be for the motor with warranty. It is the 2.0 non turbo auto. I will have it installed on my own, just looking to purchase the motor. Any suggestions on the best way to go on getting one would be helpful. Thanks, rob.

Not sure why you want to purchase a rebuilt instead of just rebuilding the one you have.

Honestly just pull your engine out, take to a shop, individual and let the progress begin.I would not recommend a reman even with a warranty.I would stick with the original, and MOST shops will have some type of warranty on there work, doing a rebuild.I know if mine ever has drama that is the route I will go,screw a reman the cost is stupid high, have no clue what the engine condition was prior to YOU buying it.Buying a reman is scary cost, advance, auto zone and guess cost on a shop to do it,not pulling it out, reinstall maybe 1000.00 or less it varies based on engine.Plus you have to consider any replaced parts, head, cyldrs, etc you know.Good luck on your choice.

I bought mine from The Engine Shop in Pennsylvania. They had an overstock (2) so sold me one for $900
