Mind officially blown: https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/2435359

I know it's overpriced, but somebody buy it and put it in a museum somewhere. Are there ANY Firenza owners on here?

Just my personal opinion.Nice clean and unique etc.Regardless of ALL the good points the car will never see the high side of 3k imo. With my 17yrs of jbody experience the most preferred J's are the Z24 coupe, hatchback and or vert in a minty fresh condition to bring above the 4k mark based on real sales of cars in the past and in my choice of cost over real value.I forgot the turbo versions would be the sunbird verts and or coupes.I have yet to see a coupe bird with a turbo on recall. The short is these sideline auto sales places think some one with out Real knowledge of these cars will buy it even if 1 owner or super low miles, hatch etc and over pay for a car that is cleary IN our minds not close to the asking price.Maybe a arrogant point of view but more realistic as I would never pay $4950.00 for a car like that no matter how cherry it seems in pics.Plus finding parts for a car like that are specific Is a pain in the -ss.Tired and long day but could not resist adding some stuff.

So if I were thinking of a J-body convertible, what would you all consider the best model, year and engine to get?

That California special needs some body work as the lhs fender is toast, the front end looks to have been tweaked on top above the rhs headlights toward the grill.Idk no pics of the engine or interior make me wonder uh what the Real condition is.1k I thinkith is a touch too much it looks well beat up in the few pics shown.

He's listed that on and off since February, at least, and I think it has a salvage title.

Umm kind of a cool car with the typical LACK of pictures, and I would like to see the front end flaws. The one gripe I have is when you list a car for sale showing pictures of the entire car inside and out and up close on the not so good provide's a upfront sale point.Plus the seller showed 87 as the mileage is that 87 actual miles,or 87,0000 or maybe 8700.I can only say it is there loss if the important details are not provided and only 2pics most would look quick and leave as emailing or a phone call adds lots of unwanted over and over answering questions. The sellers only hurt themselves when a lack of interest when on the market.I think the car is cool but, even the 1k price means it needs about $$$$$$$$$$$ more poured into it to make it right.

I think you're right - be upfront and LOTS OF PHOTOS. My gosh - it's FREE on Craigslist, for heavens sake.

An 87 Skyhawk Sport/Hatch, parting out but sounds salvageable. If I lived near there I might have tried to bring it back to life.

As of March 21:

A V6 Skyhawk in N.W. Oklahoma City: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5501506806.html

And I know there were no V6s. And if it's an 89, why does it have the older steering wheel?

And in Yakima, Washington: http://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/5500067771.html

I guess with those entry level wheels, it must not have the hidden headlamps.

That's not just the older steering wheel, it's the older gear shift as well.

Would a model with hidden headlamps EVER had the old shifter and steering wheel?

And I guess it could have the entry-level wheels/caps but still have hidden headlamps.

I'm just wondering how many Hawks are really represented in the pics and what year it really is.

I don't know which year the hidden headlights were introduced. I know they existed in 1987, but not all models had them. Either 86 or 87 (I think 87), they went to the nose just like the hidden headlights, but with exposed headlights. The tail lights also had a stripe in the middle of those models w/o the hidden lights up front.

As for the wheel and shifter, I have no idea which year those were changed.

I would guess this is an 86 or earlier with a hidden light nose. This might not even have a V6 in there, this person may have just assumed it had one because you know, all the power the car has...

I also noticed the V-6's car was listed as red in color, so I doubt the seller put any effort into an accurate ad.

Could be a fake ad to lure people to Rob, unfortunately that is getting quite popular around here, so much so that the local PD has setup their parking lots as Craigslist exchanges so people will feel safe when making craigslist buys.

Would someone PLEASE go buy this PRISTINE hidden-headlamp Skyhawk in eastern New York state? I would, but transport is tough from there to Missouri and I don't really have room for it here in Stepford. I WILL have LAND someday and a big shed for multiple cars, but that day is not today which breaks my heart as this looks CLEAN.

Let me know if anyone gets this:
