I understand your feelings Terry.
I myself had a repairable 94 Skylark hauled off to the shredder recently. The engine ran sweet and great transmission but needed to be pulled and have the front cover gasket replaced. I would have gladly given it someone for the courtesy of hauling my 01 Cavalier 30 miles home. As it was I was terribly worried some kid was going to fill the car with stop leak and flip it to some elderly couple for $1k. I wound up giving the car to a good fellow that uses the funds from scrapped cars to buy kids toys for Christmas. Also paid $100 for getting the Cavalier hauled home - the recycle business was about halfway to where the Cavalier was parked.
I wonder often about how many Z-24s wound up suffering the same fate. They have the same drivetrain the Skylark had. 3.1 Auto.
