the transmission is a th125 or 125c. the diffeance between the 2 is the 125c has lockup, were the 125 doesnt. the way you tell is the front of the trans (front being the part that point to the front of the car). if you see a plug with wires going into it, its a 125c.

as for interchangability, it depends on the motor. if you have a 2.0l ohc you need a trans from a 1.8 or 2.0 ohc motor. if you have a 2.0l ohv, you can use a trans from behind a 1.8 ohv, 2.0 ohv. technicaly you could bolt a v6 trans up to it, however, the stall of the converter is different as well as gearing.

Describe what its doing, maybe you can get the trans fixed and save yourself the headache of replacing it.

I just replaced the bad TCC solenoid in my trans this weekend, and it was a pain in the *ss. But I'm glad I did it, and I saved about $400 in trans shop labor.

Is your trans slipping?

ya i lvoe this car but i dont have the funds to pile 1000 dolalrs in transmission work into it, basically im getting about 5-10 minutes worht of good driving and than the trans starts to act up. whenever i'm turning i have to let the car setlle in after the turn before the trans locks into a gear and i can get moving again. Whenever i hit the accelerator itll miss a gear and take a few seconds to lock into the next one up. I have to keep myt room off the accelerator otherwise the engine winds up like its in nuetral. I love the car but the trans thing is really hurten my driving experiance! Help! lol
