Is Old Schools Cav Conv for Sale?

My ebay search returned this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4551758489&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1

which looks very similar to:

I know there seem to be slight differences like the chrome on the wheel wells and door tags, but they look real similar.

look at the motor pics and were th car is being sold, I dont think its the same car, but it is weird how similar they are, but thats just like taking two cars of the line at the factory and putting aftermarket rims on them and they look the same. I think its just another white 87 vert with the same rims.
It would make a good parts car for him though, lol

More than just the rims, spoiler too. I agree just a coincidence.

Hmmm that's in danville, not too far from me. Although 2700 is a riduculous price.

I'm possitive Laurie still owns her ragtop. Her's is out in California, so unless it sold a while back and someone drove it out east...I'd say its just a "twin"

Fudd- $2700 is ridiculous for a clean 1st gen ragtop?

Absolutely, I like the first gens too, but with a four cylinder, unknown mileage and there's probably rust under the frame unless its been garage kept. Danville gets a lot of ice storms which means salt on the roads. No way this car is worth even 1200 IMO.

Well I have seen this car numerous times in virginia while driving my 18 wheeler and it looks pretty good minus the wheel choice. The person who owns it lives right off the highway and I have always wonder if they would ever sell it,guess so.

I too have to agree with Fudd on the price.

I have bought 2 first gen convertibles in the last four years. I paid $1800 for an 87 rs conv with a 2.8 and a 5-speed. The car had 130,000 miles and was from the original owner with every receipt. She worked at the dealer where she bought the car. Talk about meticulously maintained.

I bought the second one last October. I paid $500 for a freshly painted 86 rs with a 2.0 auto with 136,000 miles. So $2700 seems high

In VA you can find tons of 2nd gens and a good bit of 1st gens dirt cheap, I bought my turbo bird for 350 (course I had to rebuild it) but my dad got an 87 Z w/ 60k miles on it w/ some very minor body damage for $600 He also picked up an 86 four banger cavy hatchback for 300 lol.

Well I guess you either both got a "helluva" deal or I'm looking in the wrong places. I've seen clean 2nd gens pop up around here for $2-3K with 100K plus miles on the clock. I never see 1st gens at all in the local papers, etc.

Although I did see a 91 RS convertible today though in the local classifieds advertised as being a fixer for $1700.

I'm moving out east

dang, i outta move west and sell all my Js lol, yeah I'll admit he did rip the kid off on the Z There are tons of these cars around here, granted most are rusted out but they go cheap. Verts always bring more though. I dunno if this is popular out west but on in the south just about every area has a free classifieds paper, you can post ads for free, and then buy the paper for like 1.50 a week. Tons of stuff in 'em (wish they didn't print it though, i'd have a lot more money and a lot less crap laying around if I didn't read it lol)
