hi guys im not usually in this forom as i own a third gen but i thought this was the place to ask.
did they ever make a hatchback cavalier? we think so but not sure

yes they did. all first gen j-bodies (cavalier, sunbird/j2000, firrenza, skyhawk, and cimmeron) except for the cimmeron were offered in 2 door coupe, 4 door sedan, convertable, 4 door wagon, and hatchback.

as for the cavy, the hatch was offered in all trim levels, the highest being the type 10 in 82-84, and z24 in 85-87.

Speaking of hatches I saw one today.Just sitting around with a CRAP load of first gen cavs!!!!! I am gonna take a day off SOOOOON and go and inquire about all those rides espec the hatch.It's in a different town about 40 min away,I just saw it today in my tractor trlr while drvg thru and ironically a town I went thru every day for two yrs for my prev job.I just droolled as I past by gah I LOVE THOSE FIRST GENS! I own one but 2 or 3 more would not hurt my feelings.

i, too, just saw one yesterday - it was a hatchback Z24. don't know if the badging was legit, but it was in pretty good shape for a first gen...very, VERY minimal surface rust, good paint, good interior.

did they make a hatch LOL LOL! check my registry for my link to cardomain and see my hatch! they are sweet rides unless you have to be in the rear seat lol! i have to crowtch over to sit their im to tall......

Ylime, you can't be THAT tall, I've had guys that are 6'2" sit it the back of my car with no problems. Maybe as the cars get newer they shrink?LOL.

This topic is kinda sad and depressing, LoL.

But yeah, they're awesome. the 87 Cav z24 hatchback kicks ass. If I hadn't bought a turbo GT convertible, that's second on my list.
