Large FMIC installed on my 84 hatch.

Well a couple weeks ago i bought a nice polished aluminum 27x5.5x2.5 bar and plate intercooler for $90 shipped on ebay. I now have it installed and it is like a night and day difference with the car. Not only is it faster, but it is also running cooler, getting better fuel mileage, spooling up faster, and sounding 100x better. With it i also installed a 1g dsm BOV, and removed the airbox and installed a cone filter in place of it (not pictured). Most of the piping is in 2.5" exhaust tubing using samco connectors, the remainder i was able to use the stock piping and the piping the BOV came with in the engine compartment. After removing the crush guard there was mroe than enough room to mount the intercooler, which was done with mild steel flat bar welded right to the bumper. I am having issues with the front bumper clearing the large 2.5" charge tubes so i am going to be removing a portion on the lower side of the bumper and making a fiberglass lip to replace it so stay tuned for that. Lastly, now that i have this done and I am very pleased with it, I have decided to keep my 1.8 rather than swap in a 2.0, and just get what i can out of it. I figure being that my stock guage will hit 15+psi at WOT I must be running at least 10psi ( i have a manual boost controller on it). As long as i dont exceed the psi im running now id assume ill be alright with it. So what i am wondering, with that in mind, what would be the most logical thing to buy for it in the opinion of you guys? I am in the long run hoping to get injectors some of you had said that the mopar ones work well, from what engine though? The 2.2 or 2.5 turbo im assuming but which? Or both? I was only able to find a super 60 package, not the injectors alone, although im assuming they come in that kit. I also am planning in the long run, 3" exhaust, a larger turbo (possibly mitsu as they fit on our mani's i hear), a bigger fuel pump, a fiero TB, and doing some programming of my OBD1 system. Sorry for the long thread but I just dont know whatd be my best "bang for buck" at the point im at now. Id like to set the price cap to about $100 or so, so thatd leave out the turbo and maybe the tuning. So what do you guys think?? Any insight would be helpful, thanks. Its been raingin for 2 days and suppsoed to for 4-5 more so I only have one pic of it done but I have a few progress pics i can post later. Heres the one for now.

Wow! And I thought I was good at saving $$.

Look for 1227749 ecm for tuning. Junkyard prices around here range from $20 to $50.

Nice job on the IC install. Looks good.

First things first... GREAT pic! I can't wait to see more.

My personal suggestion at this point would be to start upgrading the fuel system. I would imagine that by now the car is starting to tip to the 'lean' side. So I'd get new bigger cc injectors then a larger fuel pump. I don't know if this is beyond your budget but i'm sure you can get some injectors for around that price.

Seriously though... I love the look of front mount intercoolers!!! very sweet!

Thanx, i am very pleased with how it turned out as well. If its not raingin tomorrow ill take the front off and take some more pics b4 i finish filling pinholes in the welds. Injectors had seemed to me to be the best next step. I guess 100-200 or so would seem more what im looking to spend at the moment. Some of you had mentioned in another of my threads that you are using the mopar super 60 injectors with good results. I know this is in 2.0's but im sure theyd work for me as well, maybe with a little modding if need be. Im assuming these are the injectors from the super 60 kit i see all over online, but i havent found just the injectors for sale anyplace/ Where did you guys get yours??

The 1227749 ecm is the replacement for the pre-87 turbo ECM. It's faster and has more functions. Yes, you'll need to do some wiring to install it.

Check out darkmuck's site. I think that's where the posts on the injectors can be found. I believe they were part of the "super 60" kit or something like that. I can't get anything to come up in that link you posted, but if you look for maybe donovan's dodge garage you'll find some neat Mopar turbo stuff including injector info.
