I just picked up a couple of weeks ago a 87 Skyhawk Turbo and 89 Sunbird Turbo and was wondering
if anything can be done to or who can do the ECM like e-prom changes like we can for my 87 Buick T/R??
thanks

Ron

Hi, Ron.

Your car should have a 1227749 ecm which is the same as what's used in the GMC Syclone and Typhoon. Some of the early turbo 'Birds used a different mask id so you may need to switch to using later code. If you're really into coding you can look into using $59 which is a modified version of the factory $58 and has a support group at code59.org. If you want to stick with stock you can find definition files from Tunercat, Tunerpro, Promgrammer, and maybe even some others.
