One and only Sunbird Gt Turbo in my hometown

This is some rare photos of the only other Pontiac in my immediate area. A very old man owns this. He is a taxi driver and is so old everyone just hates to get behind him , because I don't think he goes any faster that 20Mph where-ever he goes. So you can imagine my shock a few days ago when I passed him on an old 2 lane and he had this little buggy zipping along at a decent clip!! He actually has this car for sale, but never seems to sell it - been for sale for years around here. Every once in a blue moon he'll set it out and stick his "for sale" signs on it.

Here is the ad he had posted on CraigsList back in January:

1987 Pontiac Sunbird convertible - $3500 (Covington, VA area)
Date: 2012-01-18, 1:21PM EST
Automatic with 47,000 actual miles -- garage kept -- new battery -- excellent condition.
Please call 540-965-4741 or 540-958-0257 anytime for more information.

So I was drivin' my old tired 'Bird around town today, and happened upon it parked near the local car wash. Turned around and went home and grabbed my camera and went back!! Thought it would be kinda neat to grab a few picts of the only 1st gen Sunbirds to grace this area nowadays!!

Looks like a nice car. I always liked the two tones they did on those cars.

I see it has the other optional dash that Sunbirds had with the 3rd gaugepod in the center

That brings the count up to what now for Jbodies that had that dash panel

Certainly is a clean one, like looking in a time capsule.

Looks clean and untouched. That's hard to find with any turbo car nowadays. Hmm....where can I rustle up $3500?

Nice car. Funny, I've seen a number of silver and black GT's through the years but I don't think I've ever seen another gray and black one like mine. Maybe it was an unpopular combination back then? I remember when my sister picked this one out on the lot in '87 there was blue/black, red/black, silver/black and this one and she liked the gray/black the best. Personally I liked red/black or blue/black better.
